The 2019-2020 school year is going to be a great one! As I enter my second year teaching at Lincoln Trail (16th year overall teaching art), I could not be more excited to see what wonderful art is made in the art room! I grew up in Fairbury, Illinois, and currently live in Fisher with my husband and our two kids. In my free time, I love to craft (sew, cross stitch, needle felt), make art (drawing, paint projects, photography) and spend quality time with my family (watching movies, swimming, glamping). I am also proud to be a 4H leader. I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2003. I then started my teaching career at Prairie Central School District. I taught elementary art (K-6) for the first 7 years, and then middle school art (5-8) art for the last 7 years while there. In 2012, I graduated from Saint Xavier University with a Master's Degree in Teaching and Leadership. I still love to learn about the ever changing world of art making. While product is very important, my teaching focuses on the process of art making and helping students strengthen their inner artist. I believe that everyone can be an artist and my role as an art teacher is to help students see and appreciate all that the visual arts have to offer.

Thank you so much LT students and families for coming to Chalk the Walk. I’m amazed the artistic ability. Great job! #LTProud

My name is Sandy Prather. I am beginning my 19th year of teaching and 20 years working for the Mahomet Seymour school district. My husband, Daren, and I have lived in Mahomet since 1994. Our three sons, Jacob, Lucas, and Matthew were all MS Bulldogs. Our son Jacob who is 29 works for Bauer as a Climate Field specialist and lives in Normal. Lucas finished graduate school at UAB and earned his MHA this Spring and has just started the 2nd year of his fellowship with Quorum at a hospital in Granite City. On July 19 we gained a beautiful daughter in law when Lucas married Maggy Yockey from Shelbyville, Illinois. They make their home in Alton, Illinois, and we cannot be more happy for both of our families! Our son Matthew is our angel in Heaven and is always in our hearts and on our minds. We are thankful for the promise of hope each and every day!
My husband Daren and I love working together and being together whether we are boating or just enjoying a quiet moment on our deck at home while I read and he listens to his favorite music. We own and operate two Twice the Ice ice houses in both Mahomet and Rantoul.
I am so very excited to begin this school year. I love teaching 5th grade and I love my 5th grade team.

Thank you Lincoln Trail Families for a wonderful Family Fun Night! We loved meeting all of you tonight and look forward to an amazing school year.

#LTProud Hi Lincoln Trail Community! My name is Daniel Nock and I am currently a 4th grade teacher. The 2019-2020 school year will be my eighth year teaching and second in the Mahomet-Seymour School District. Before obtaining my current teaching position, I taught 6th grade at Northeast Elementary Magnet School in the Danville School District. I currently received my masters degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Illinois University and look forward to learning a great deal this school year from our fantastic administrative team as I complete my principalship practicum. February will be an exciting month for me as I will marry my fiancé Kristie (with the help of my German Shepard Rizzo and Kristie's Lab Mix Chloe). In my free time you can also find me refereeing High School (or some college) Soccer games, as well as enjoying the occasional country concert or sporting event.

#LTProud 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Denault. My name is Lindsey Denault. I received my bachelor’s degree from Millikin University and my master’s degree as a Reading Specialist from Olivet Nazarene University. I started my teaching career in Cissna Park (also my hometown). There I taught 2nd grade for 10 years. This will be my 3rd year teaching 4th grade at Lincoln Trail. Aside from teaching, I love spending time with my husband, Neil and our daughter, Charlotte. Keeping us busy at home are our two dogs, Stella and Layla, our garden, and chickens. In my free time, I love to read, Crossfit, garden, and organize. I’m looking forward to building more great relationships this year at LT!

We hope to see everyone tonight for Family Fun Night from 5 - 7 p.m. We will begin our evening on the playground with a welcome from the principals.
