MAYC After School Program at the Junior High is no cost to any already registered student at MSJH. The program is focused on encouraging, empowering, and motivating youths to maximize their own potential and become productive members of their community. We do not pre-register for our program, as we allow students to drop in daily as needed and sign themselves in and out. We do ask that students have a completed permission form on file before their first day of attendance. Permission forms can be picked up in Room #303 after the final bell, or in the front office.
MAYC After School provides a structured, supervised environment from 3:20 to 5:30 p.m. in which students are encouraged to work on their homework, play organized team sports, participate in team-building activities, complete one or more community service projects per semester, and build strong relationships with their peers. We provide one snack daily at about 3:45 p.m. On Fridays, we take a field trip down the street to the MAYC House located at 700 W. Main St. where we have full use of their facilities. We also have a reward-based field trip at the end of every semester for those who have attended consistently and maintained or improved positive behavior.
