Kaylynn Azer is excited to start her 2nd year as a kindergarten teacher at MPE.  She has been teaching 16 years and has taught in Illinois and New York.  After teaching five years here in East Central Illinois, she left the classroom to raise two sons, Nic (29) and Ryan (23).  During that time, she completed her master’s degree as a Literacy Specialist at UAlbany in Albany, NY.  She resides in Champaign with her husband, Magdi.

One of the only things Mrs. Azer loves more than cooking is eating!  To balance these two passions, she started jogging during college. Little did she know that running would become a lifelong passion.  If you pay attention, you might spot her running around Mahomet when the school day ends.

When she is not running, Mrs. Azer reads mystery novels.  She also loves reading to her students and teaching them to read and write.  She looks forward to welcoming her new students and their families to the Hippo room. Now that she is no longer the new kid (teacher) on the block, she also looks forward to seeing the familiar faces of her former students and their families in the halls of MPE.
