April 19, 2004 Pantagraph and Citizen Track & Field Coverage This weekend an article appeared in the Sunday Pantagraph that reminded me why the Pantagraph and the Mahomet Citizen are your two best sources of high school track & field information. The Mahomet Citizen's Bruce Yentes has met with me personally every week this season to discuss our team. I really appreciate his attention to detail and excellent writing. Randy Sharer is a long time track & field advocate for downstate Illinois. He is by far the most knowledgeable track & field reporter in the area and endeavors to highlight the sport on a regular basis. These two newspapers deserve your support for their outstanding track coverage. I have archived the the Pantagraph article as it will expire from their site eventually. Please note the article was based on an interview during the first week of outdoor season. April 15, 2004 MS Grabs Quality Win Pontiac has won the Cornbelt Conference 9 out of the last 10 years, but tonight the Indians did not have enough for the victory. Coach Gary Garrison Joins Staff Coach Gary Garrison will be coaching Bulldogs this season. What happens when you combine the best hurdles coach in the state with the top two hurdlers in school history? I don't know, but I am super excited to find out! Coach Garrison was head men's track coach at St. Joseph-Ogden for 30+ years. There Coach Garrison guided the Spartans to two state championships. Coach Garrison has coached more all-state hurdlers than nearly any other downstate coach. Add that to his amazing wealth of track and field knowledge and it is clear this is a huge pick up for Bulldog Track! |
