Special Services
We offer a variety of support services at Lincoln Trail: Special Education, Remedial Reading, Speech/Language, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Vision, and Hard of Hearing.
Students who are experiencing learning difficulties are sometimes referred to our Student Review Committee (SRC). This team consists of the classroom teacher, a special education teacher, the principal, the school psychologist, social worker, parents, and any other involved staff. The goal of this team is to design interventions and develop accommodations to help the student be successful in the regular education classroom. We will reconvene to discuss the effectiveness of the interventions and accommodations. Students who continue to have learning difficulties, after interventions are attempted, are referred by the team for a full and individual evaluation, which may include the areas of Health, Vision, Hearing, Social Emotional Status, General Intelligence,Academic Performance, Communication Status, and Motor Abilities. Within 60 school days after a student has been referred for testing, the team will reconvene to determine eligibility and what services the student should receive.
If your child is experiencing learning difficulties, please contact the child's classroom teacher to discuss your concerns.
